Well - now that I"m equity - I have to wake up at 7 :30 a.m. - instead of oh - well - whenever I want....it's very strange. CARMEN starts rehearsals tomorrow night (well rather - MY first rehearsal - they started last week whilst I was out of town.) My friend Paul wants me to sing in his "no showtunes" cabaret - I laughed at him - but he insisted. We are actually going to do an incredibly awesome Green Day duet - with him on guitar and harmonies...and me singing - turning one of the songs from the AMERICAN IDIOT album into a slow operatic ballad. Kat hear it and said it was a "win!"
All the gay boys at the audition (which I will never be called back for because the sheet said very specifically "looking for nonoperatic voices - I tried - but am sure I ultimately failed in my mission to disguise what my voice sounds like) - commented on my awesome dress - the new one I got in Paris - so I was happy and felt very pretty!:)
Now - to do it all over again tomorrow! Singing AND dancing auditions tomorrow! WOOHOO!
